BUTUAN CITY – A total of 47 recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections were registered from Nov. 16 to Nov. 19 in Caraga Region.
The Department of Health in the area (DOH-13) on Friday said Caraga now has 2,783 recoveries from 3,403 total number of infections since the start of the pandemic in March this year.
With the number of recoveries, the region has 457 remaining active Covid-19 cases as of Friday, DOH-13 said.
The region has 163 total Covid-19 related deaths as of Thursday.
DOH-13 also announced 53 new cases, 34 of which are classified as local transmissions.
“Fifty-five percent or 29 of the new cases are females, while 45 percent or 24 are males. Most of the new cases, or 57 percent, are aged from 21 to 50-years-old,” DOH-13 said.
Thirty-three of the new cases are considered asymptomatic, 17 have mild symptoms, two have severe symptoms, while one is in critical condition.
The agency also reported two Covid-19 related deaths as of Thursday.
DOH-13 said the overall rate of local transmission in Caraga remains at 73 percent as of Friday, or 2,468 cases from the total number of Covid-19 cases. (PNA)
