AN ESTIMATED P180,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon, October 9.

The operation also led to the arrest of Christian Mark Cuadra, 20; Mark Ricopuerto, 28; and Christopher John Filoteo, 22, all residents of Barangay 2.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” to a police undercover at about 2 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of suspected shabu, and the P200 marked money.

Pico said Cuadra was identified as street-level target in the area of Police Station 2. Cuadra and his companions were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

He said the suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was also arrested inside the 888 Chinatown Square in Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.

Police identified suspect as Jomarie Nunez, 31, of Barangay Alijis, Bacolod.

Pico said Nunez was arrested by the mall’s security guard after he was caught stealing the cellular phone of Richard Cuadra, 36, of Barangay Banago, at about 1 p.m.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing theft charges. (MAP)
